My shoulder's constant popping is my punishment for skipping stretches
I've been installing carpet for over ten years and never made time to stretch before starting the day. Now, my shoulder pops with every reach, and it stings when I pull carpet tight over pads. Just last week, I struggled to fit a piece in a corner because lifting my arm hurt so bad. I see other installers dealing with the same thing, but we all just push through the pain. It got real when I had to sit out a job because I couldn't handle the knee kicker. From my personal training side, I know a few simple moves could help, but on site, it feels silly to do them. We're so focused on getting the job done that we forget our health matters too. It's frustrating how this trade wears down our bodies without much talk about fixing it.
