Shoutout to the cheap seam tape that cost me a whole bedroom redo
I figured I'd save a few bucks last month and grabbed some generic seam tape from a discount flooring supply place outside Charlotte. Figured tape is tape, right? Big mistake. I laid a nice berber in a master bedroom, taped every single seam like normal, and three days later the customer called saying the seams were popping up. Went back to look and that tape had zero grab, it was like it never stuck. Had to pull up the whole carpet, scrape the old tape off the pad, and redo it with the good stuff. Lost about $200 in material and a full Saturday. Anybody else run into this with bargain bin tape?
