My uncle said never stretch carpet when it's cold, and I blew him off in January
Back in January I had a 40 yard stretch-in job in a rental in Council Bluffs and my uncle, who did floors for 22 years, said wait till the house warms up or the carpet will snap back and wrinkle at the seams. I figured the thermostat was on and got it done anyway, and by the next week the seams were puckered in two doorways. Do you guys always hold off when the house is sitting around 55 degrees, or do you just run a heater in the room for a while first?
