I spent $50 on a fancy app timer called 'FlowCore' last month to block social media on my laptop. Turns out I spent more time tweaking the settings and checking the stats than actually working. The free website blocker built into my browser does the same thing without all the extra noise. Has anyone else wasted money on a tool that just caused more issues?
I tried both Freedom and the built-in screen time settings on my iPhone for a month each. Freedom costs like $40 a year and has all these extra features, but honestly the free Apple one worked better for me. I set it to block Reddit and Instagram from 8am to 5pm, and after 3 weeks I stopped reaching for my phone without even thinking. Has anyone else found that paying for a blocker doesn't give you better results?
