Vent: my website blocker kept letting Reddit through and it took 11 days to figure out why
I set up a blocker in January to kill my Reddit habit during work hours, and it kept failing on the same laptop. Turned out I had two browser profiles synced with different settings, so one profile was quietly ignoring the block list the entire time. I spent 11 days blaming the software, restarting my router, and finally reinstalling the whole thing before a friend asked to see my profiles menu. If you run a blocker across multiple browsers, check that every profile actually has the extension turned on, not just the one you think you use. What is the dumbest thing that made your blocker fail?
