inSwitched to weekly goals and my stress dropped
Forget the whole hydra comparison - think of it like a sink full of dishes that keeps refilling from a hidden faucet. You clear the counters but the drips keep coming. @oliviab44 nailed it about plumbing jobs - those have an actual endpoint where you turn off the water and walk away. But tiny tasks are different because they don't have a shutoff valve. The trick isn't outsmarting the list, it's realizing some of those tasks are just background noise you can let sit.

inIs it worth changing your own oil if the dealership does it for $30?
My 2015 Civic takes exactly 4.7 quarts of synthetic and a specific filter that the parts store always has to order for me. Last time I did it, I spilled oil all over my driveway and spent 20 minutes scrubbing the stain with cat litter. But here's the thing nobody mentions - that $30 dealership oil change usually comes with a tire rotation and multi-point inspection included, so you're actually getting two services for less than the cost of supplies alone. Plus they dispose of the old oil and filter properly, which my town just started requiring a $5 permit for at the dump. Have you checked if your dealership's deal includes extras like that?

inHeard a guy at the parts counter say he always torques oil drain plugs to spec now
Is it just me or does overconfidence screw up like half the diy projects out there lol

inThat old 737's comm panel went from static to crystal clear after I swapped the coax jumpers
Oh man, that's the best feeling. I spent two hours once trying to figure out why a nav light was dim. Turns out the previous guy put the wrong bulb in, a 12-volt instead of 28. Swapped it and it was like a spotlight. Felt so stupid and so smart at the same time.

inMy client's logo presentation got hijacked by a toddler's crayon masterpiece
That "happy accidents" idea reminds me of how my best garden layouts came from plants spreading where I didn't plan.
