My old boss in Denver told me to always sharpen my boning knife after every single hog breakdown, and after a decade of ignoring him, I finally tried it for a week and the difference in clean cuts is insane.

That "stubborn advice" thing is so true. A friend who bakes kept ignoring her mentor's rule to weigh flour, not scoop it. She swore the difference was small until her cakes kept coming out dense. After a month of weighing, her textures got so much better, like night and day. It reminds me of what @mason.margaret said about tire pressure, just a small habit that fixes a big headache.

I used to hate slow cools, but now I see the point

Totally agree with @the_diana, I now double my cool time just to be safe.

Unpopular opinion: I used to think asking vague questions was fine, but a workshop in Seattle changed my mind.

Right? It's like trying to get directions when you don't know your own address. I asked for help with a blurry photo once and just got "use a better camera." When I finally said it was a picture of my black cat in a dark room with my phone, people had actual tips about lighting. The struggle is SO real.

The old 'just book the cheapest flight' plan vs. actually checking the airport

But what about when the bus just doesn't show up?

My old phone's battery health hit 78% after exactly 730 days

I get what you mean about the battery health feeling predictable, but my experience has been totally different. My last phone was at 89% after two years and I charged it overnight every single day. I've seen friends with the same model have batteries die way faster or last longer. It feels more like luck and how hot the phone gets than any set rule to me.
