TIL my little plant ID app hit 10,000 correct IDs in a month
I run a small landscaping company and started using a free plant ID app last spring to help with client questions. It uses a local AI model on my phone, so it works offline in gardens. I just checked the stats, and it correctly named 10,037 plants in April alone. That's wild to me because I only used it maybe 3 or 4 times a day. It means the AI is getting it right almost every single time now, even on tricky weeds. For anyone else using these tools, have you seen a jump in how often they're right lately?

Heard the same thing from a gardening podcast last week.

Yeah but that podcast advice always sounds perfect in theory. My tomatoes got way too leggy last year trying to follow their "full sun all day" rule. Found they actually did better with some afternoon shade once the heat really kicked in.

That "full sun all day" advice can be a bit misleading for vegetables... plants like tomatoes often get stressed in intense afternoon heat. A lot of gardening advice depends on your local climate, not just the general rule.
