I used to swear by my pneumatic snap-on for wheel work, thought battery stuff couldn't hang. Picked up the 2767-20 last year after a buddy at the shop in Phoenix kept raving about it. That thing snapped off a rusted Ford F-250 lug nut like it was butter. Has anyone else found a cordless that actually beats air for heavy duty stuff?
I was dead set against switching to a radiant heater because I figured the old bulb style worked fine, but after my neighbor's shed caught fire from a knocked-over lamp last winter I swapped to a Sweeter Heater and my birds actually stopped panting under it so now I'm wondering if anyone else made the switch and regretted it or was it just me being stubborn for three years?
I was reading some fermentation blog last night and they said you need to boil your kombucha jars for 20 minutes every time. I have been making kombucha for 2 years now and I just wash mine with hot soapy water and rinse real well. Has anyone else noticed that half the online advice is way over the top or did I just get lucky so far?
Picked up a used Samsung top loader off Facebook Marketplace for $120. Thought I got a deal but it started leaking on day 8. By day 14 the drum wouldn't spin at all. Opened it up and found the bearings were completely shot and the spider arm had cracks. Took me 4 hours to haul it to the dump and I was out the cash plus my time. Anyone else get burned by a used machine that looked fine on the outside but was rotted inside?
Been doing heads on 6.7 Cummins motors for about 5 years now, always went to the final torque in one smooth pull. This crusty mechanic watched me one day and said I was crushing the gasket, told me to do it in three stages instead. Has anyone else had their method totally wrecked by some old timer's advice?
I was struggling with dry flats on my 18inch WSM for over a year. Tried wrapping in butcher paper and it helped but the flat still came out tough. On a whim I folded a foil boat around just the flat during the stall and the finished brisket was the most tender I have ever made. Has anyone else tried this instead of full wrapping?
I looked at my notebook a few weeks ago and saw I've been tracking every garment I've made since 2019. Number 50 was a simple cotton dress for my niece's birthday in June... nothing fancy, just a basic A-line with a floral print from Joann's. It really hit me how far I've come from my first project which was a crooked pillowcase that I messed up the seam allowance on. I still remember cutting that first pattern in my tiny apartment kitchen, nervous about wasting fabric. Now I can draft my own sleeves without even thinking twice about it. Has anyone else kept a running tally of what they've made? I'm curious if hitting a certain number changed how you approach new projects.
She said it tasted like cardboard. I was using ice water but not enough fat. Swapped to half butter half shortening. Also stopped overworking the dough. Now it actually flakes. Anyone else have a family member give brutal but useful feedback?
Used a $150 inflatable pad for years on weekend trips in the Smokies, but after three punctures in six months I switched to a closed-cell foam roll and actually sleep better now, anyone else trade comfort for durability?
I know everyone's been raving about Ark Nova lately, but after 20 plays of each, I just don't see it. Terraforming Mars has this open ended feel where you can pivot strategies mid game based on what cards show up, while Ark Nova feels like you're locked into a zoo plan from turn one. Am I missing something or do others find Mars has way more variety per session?
