inRant: a guy at the REI in Denver said I was "collecting routes like stamps" and it's been bugging me for a week
Plenty of people do the pin collection thing and still get something real out of it. The box checking is what gets you the experience to know which 3 you'd go back to, and a lot of those 11 "forgettable" trips probably taught you gear stuff, weather stuff, or just what you don't like, even if the memory faded. Three out of fourteen is not a bad hit rate at all for finding places that stick. Deleting the list sounds like throwing out the map that got you to the good spots.

inThree coats of primer later, I finally understand paint chemistry
Feel your pain on that one, been there with a water stain that laughed at my primer. Shellac is magic but nobody tells you until you've already wasted your whole weekend.

inTook 45 minutes to move a 3 foot branch out of the bike lane
Nailed it right up until I realized my bike shorts were basically camouflage for the wet leaves I sat on to take a break. Guess I'm the unofficial arborist now, just with worse credentials and a lot more cursing.
