My bird feeder cam hit 10,000 views and now I get messages about chemtrails every day
I set up a cheap cam on my bird feeder in Tucson about 8 months ago just to see what showed up. Last month a clip of a grackle flipping upside down passed 10,000 views and my inbox turned into a war zone. Now half the comments argue the birds are CGI fakes and the other half say the white streaks behind them are spray planes. I never asked for any of this, I just wanted to know if that one fat dove was eating all the seed. It got so bad I turned comments off for a week and someone made a whole video claiming I was hiding the real footage. Does anyone else have a normal hobby that got dragged into a debate you never signed up for?
People keep saying the internet is toxic but come on, a bird feeder cam? Getting mad at a grackle hanging upside down is a choice. If someone watches a dove eat seed for three minutes and decides it's a government plot, that says way more about them than about your camera. You turned off comments for a week and someone made a video about it, that's not a war zone, that's like five guys with too much free time. Real problems don't get solved by arguing about spray trails behind a bird. Just post the fat dove and let the weirdos wear themselves out.
