I clicked a link in an email from my kid's school and it was a fake login page

Yeah, the copycat sites are getting scary good. My bank sent a legit email last week, and I spent five minutes staring at the link because the real site and the fake ones look like twins now. It's like they're not even trying to hide the bad spelling anymore, just copying everything pixel for pixel. Makes you wonder who's even winning this game sometimes.

Question about a buried line splice that turned into a two day job

Oh man, that brings back a memory. I tried to fix a garden hose with one of those sleeves a few years ago. It worked for about a week before it started spraying water everywhere again. Total mess. I ended up just buying a new hose.

Working on a bridge project in Tampa, I keep seeing guys skip the pre-dive tool check.

That crack is why I always do a full tool check.

My entire herb tower gave out last Tuesday and sent basil everywhere

Seriously? It's just a planter, not a life support system. Plastic stuff breaks, but it's also cheap to replace. Maybe we just expect things to last too long now.

My neighbor swore by cooking bacon at 400 degrees for 12 minutes

Honestly, the thin bacon is such a trap because it goes from perfect to burnt ash in like 30 seconds. I've totally learned that lesson the hard way. Your point about air fryers running hot is so true, they all seem to have their own personality. I do the same thing and start lower, because once that smoke alarm goes off there's no going back. It's all about knowing your own machine.
