PSA: A pilot in Denver told me my torque wrench click was 'too quiet' and it saved a job
I was doing a wheel change on a King Air last winter, and the pilot came out to watch. He said, 'Hey, your wrench is clicking, but I can barely hear it over the wind.' I checked it against my test bar, and sure enough, it was out of spec by about 15 foot-pounds. I had been trusting the feel for months. That one comment made me buy a digital torque adapter for field work. Has anyone else had a simple catch like that from a crew member?
