inNgl I dropped $150 on a 'secret history' documentary series that was just recycled YouTube clips
Ouch, that's a brutal lesson. Tessa_schmidt19 might be onto something about the profit motive. But is any of this "secret history" stuff even worth chasing? Most of those moon landing "facts" get debunked with a quick search. Maybe we just want a better story than the real one.

inMy cousin's kid asked me why we dig up old stuff and it made me think
Got to love when a kid cuts right through all the boring adult explanations. They ask the simple question that shows how weird the whole thing actually is. We're basically a bunch of grown-ups paying money to go play in the dirt, hoping to find someone else's old trash. Your nephew nailed it, it's total curiosity about strangers.

inI was sure a home inspection was just a formality until Tuesday
My buddy's inspector found a whole nest of knob and tube wiring.

inI spent $40 on a password manager and it caught a weird login attempt last night
My old password system was just the word "dolphin" followed by whatever year it was. I had dolphin2018 for my bank, dolphin2019 for my email, and I'm pretty sure dolphin2020 is still out there on some sketchy gaming forum. The only thing it ever stopped was me from remembering which version I used where.

inHad to pick between two different riser sleeve types for a big steel casting job
Nice call on the exothermic sleeves. We switched over for our big valve castings and the scrap rate dropped a lot. The extra heat really does make a difference on those heavy sections.
