Ruined a whole sink of dishes with one dumb move and now I need a soap that can save me
So I was at my sister's place in Boise last weekend watching her two kids while she was out. Made them pasta for dinner and the pot was a mess, burnt butter stuck to the bottom. I grabbed what I thought was dish soap under the sink and squirted a big glob in the water. Turned out it was some fancy hand soap she got from a craft fair. Zero suds. Nothing cut the grease. I stood there for 20 minutes scrubbing a single pot with a sponge that just smeared the mess around. Ended up boiling water in it and scraping with a wooden spoon, which mostly worked but scratched the heck out of the finish. Now she's a little annoyed and I feel dumb. What soap actually breaks down burnt on grease without needing a chisel? I want something I can keep in my own kitchen so this never happens again.
