inI was wrong about using wire nuts for every single connection
Honestly though, how damp are we talking? Like a little basement must or full-on puddle splash zone? I've seen wire nuts last for ages in some pretty gross spots before they actually fail. That inspector sounds a bit extra lol. Sure, the fancy heat shrink stuff is good, but is it always worth the hassle and extra cost for a crawl space that's just kinda humid?

inI was tracking the wrong number for our team's output for a year.
That's a solid point from @ryan_flores about keeping it simple. We had to do the same thing when we switched to story points for our dev work. We started with just three buckets: small (1 point), medium (3), and large (5). It stopped the number chasing and actually showed who was taking on complex work. The trick was getting the whole team to agree on what fit in each bucket during planning.

inVent: My old way of handling revision clouds was a total joke
Oh man, that's too good. I can just picture Carl's face, this quiet moment of pity before he shows you the magic button. It's like finding out your car has cruise control after you've been manually holding the gas pedal for a decade on road trips. At least your coffee-fueled toddler art phase is over now.

inWhy does nobody talk about the hidden filter in your shop vac?
Tell me about it. My house is basically a museum of things waiting to surprise me with a secret repair. I'm just waiting for the couch to demand a new hidden spring.

inMy kid asked me why we call it 'mud' when we're under the ocean
Remember trying to explain to my nephew why we "roll up" a car window. He kept looking for the actual rolling part. @perez.mia is right, kids show us how much language is just agreed upon nonsense. We say we "hang up" a phone, but nothing gets hung. We "dial" a number on a flat screen. It's all leftover words from old things we don't even use anymore, and we just expect everyone to get it.
