Update: A single wrong turn in the Wind River Range turned a 3-day loop into a 5-day survival test

Remember that hour convincing yourself about the deer path. What was the final thing that made you pull the map back out? For me, it's usually the trail getting stupid, like suddenly needing to crawl under a giant fallen tree a horse could never pass.

Pro tip: I stopped chasing every new client lead for a month

Totally get the "saying 'no' more often" part. Read a blog post about the 80/20 rule for freelancers. It said most of your good work comes from a few good clients. Chasing every new lead just burns you out. Like last year, I dropped a client who was always late on payments. Freed up time to do better work for the people who actually value it. Felt like a weight was lifted.

Honestly, I put a new aftermarket turbo on a 5.9 Cummins and it started making this weird whistle at idle. Never heard that before.

Check your boost lines for a small leak, that whistle is usually air getting sucked in somewhere.

My buddy in Phoenix laughed when I said I couldn't grow peppers on my north-facing balcony

Is a grow light really that big of a deal? I see people online acting like they've solved world hunger because their basil didn't die. It's a lamp.

TIL the bakery in my town sells their 'ugly' cakes for half price on Fridays

Love that idea so much. It makes me wonder if other food places could do the same thing. Like a pizza shop selling slices from pies that got a little messed up in the oven, or a donut place having a bag of the broken ones for cheap. We throw away so much good food just because it looks a bit weird. I'd buy the ugly stuff every time if it meant less waste and saved me some cash.
