inBinging "The Bear" vs "Kitchen Nightmares" was a total eye opener
and the thing about The Bear is it shows you why kitchens are broken, not just that they're broken. Kitchen Nightmares is all surface level, like here's a dirty fridge and a guy crying. But The Bear gets into the debt, the family history, the way people get stuck in that life because they don't know what else to do. It's like watching a documentary that happens to be scripted. I had a friend who worked in fine dining for years and she said The Bear was more accurate than any reality show she'd seen.

inSaid I'd never use a clipper with a cord again, but my last job changed that
Guilty as charged, my last clipper died mid-fade on a full charge.

inWhy does nobody talk about how much heat chickens can actually handle?
Two years ago in Kentucky we hit 97 for a week straight and I noticed my birds digging little holes in the dirt under the coop (like dust baths but deeper). Turns out they were trying to get to cooler soil, maybe 10 inches down where the ground stays way cooler. I started wetting that bare dirt patch under their shaded spot every morning and evening after that, and it dropped the surface temp by about 15 degrees on my cheap thermometer. Nobody talks about managing the ground temperature around your coop, it made a bigger difference than the frozen bottles for me.

inWhy does nobody mention how long a simple brake light fix can drag on
Jumped into a brake job on my old Subaru and found out the bleeder valve was basically fused to the caliper with rust. Spent a whole afternoon with PB Blaster and a torch before it finally gave way. Three hours for a plastic clip sounds about right, honestly.

inHit 47 faucet washers replaced this weekend...
47 is an impressive number honestly. I'd be tempted to start an "oops I did it again" playlist every time I finished one.
