Did you ever check the rest of that stuff sack before you threw it back in the closet? I ask because those little patches and the valve adapter usually live in the same spot, and if the sack sat there for two years the other pieces probably did too. Dig through the whole bag before your next trip and you might find a few more free gifts you already paid for.

Worst case you sit on a rock or your bear can like the rest of us did for decades. People hike the whole AT with a foam pad and zero chair and somehow survive. Sounds more like a bad product than a broken trip. Did the return policy at least work out for you?
