inOld timer in Toledo told me to always pour on a count, never by eye
Since the 80s? That's wild.

inJust realized I've cut over 10,000 pieces of glass in my career.
Totally get that, I had to cut a giant foam hot dog once for a weird art show. It was like eight feet long and kept flopping around on the saw. The smell was awful, like burning plastic and fake meat. I mean, it was funny but also a huge mess.

inBack when we got our first machine with a tool probe, I thought it was just a gimmick.
Felt the same way about our new laser level until it saved a whole foundation job lol.

inHad to choose between a cheap chain tool and a Park Tool CT-5 last month
Ugh, this is the "buy once, cry once" rule in action. I see it with kitchen stuff too, like a can opener. The cheap one breaks and mangles the can, but the decent one just works for years. That extra $30 is really just paying to not have the thing fail halfway through the job.

inMy old drip machine versus the pour over I started using this winter
Ever try going back to a regular drip machine after the French press? I did once and it tasted like brown water. Makes you wonder what they're actually serving at those diners, like is it just super old beans or a bad brew setup? Kinda ruins the whole cheap breakfast vibe when the coffee's that bad.
