That one Friday when my old boss was right about coolant mix
I always thought mixing coolant a little strong was better, until last week. We had a rush job on ten aluminum parts for a local bike shop, and I ran the machine hard. By Friday afternoon, the coolant tank was foaming like crazy and left a sticky film on everything. My boss walked by, pointed at it, and said 'Told you, 8% is the sweet spot, not 10%.' I cleaned the whole system over the weekend and ran it at his ratio this Monday. The finish is way better and my skin doesn't itch. Anyone else have a stubborn habit they finally fixed?

Remember thinking more coolant meant more protection, like it was armor for the tool. Turns out it just gums up the works and costs you time cleaning. That sticky film gets into every seal and hose, and it absolutely wrecks surface finish on soft metals. Running the right mix is less about being cheap and more about letting the chemistry actually work. Stubbornly ran mine too rich for months before the foaming drove me nuts too.

Wait, you ran it too rich for MONTHS? How did you even stand the smell?
