inMy old e-reader needed a new battery and it took me a whole weekend
Feels like modern gadgets are designed to make simple fixes a huge ordeal.

inI bought a fancy new color mixing bowl that was a total waste
Honestly the whole bowl thing is a trap. I stopped using them completely. I just mix right on my palette paper now, a big flat sheet. You get way more control over the puddle shape and it soaks up zero product. The cleanup is stupid easy, just toss the sheet. It feels weird at first but it fixed my waste issue.

inPSA: An old timer in Philly told me my rope splice was 'too pretty' and it changed my whole approach.
Ever had a boss who only cared about how clean your work looked? That stuff gets in your head man. I used to spend way too much time on finishes that didn't matter, just to make some foreman happy. The old guy was right, pretty doesn't mean a thing if it fails.

inTIL my bench hit 1000 repaired boards this year
That's a crazy number, good for you. My shop is seeing the same thing with old stereo receivers and VCRs. Feels like everything from that era is hitting its failure point at once. People really hate how new stuff sounds and breaks so fast. Makes sense they'd rather fix the old reliable gear.

inAppreciation post: That one Tuesday in November when my sourdough starter finally got it together
My starter lived on plain tap water and all purpose flour for years and it was fine. Sometimes I wonder if we overcomplicate this stuff.
