Pro tip: skip the cheap third-party load charts for your old Manitowoc

I dropped $150 on a set of aftermarket load charts from some online shop, thinking they'd be fine for my 1988 4100W. The print was fuzzy on the critical radius lines, and I had to shut down a lift last month because I couldn't read a 40-foot mark clearly, costing me a full day's pay. Who has a reliable source for clear OEM charts for older rigs?

Ever check with the local crane inspector's office? Sometimes those guys have a drawer full of old factory charts they've pulled off machines during certs, and they might make you a clean copy for a few bucks. It's a long shot, but way cheaper than a shutdown. You'd be surprised what's floating around in those offices.

Call Manitowoc directly, they keep archives for older models.
