My buddy did almost the exact same thing last year, tore out his whole orchard for a fancy bamboo garden. About two weeks later he sent me a screenshot at like 2am saying he missed the mess. He ended up keeping a tiny corner of the old trees just so it still felt like his island and not some showroom. Maybe that is the move for your left side, leave one little messy patch somewhere. Six hours of digging is no joke though, that is some real dedication.

Man, I had the total opposite luck last year. I hung a big shelf in my shed and went through like 12 of those plastic anchors because every single one spun in the hole. Turned out my drill bit was too big. Once I sized down and started tapping them in with a hammer instead of cranking them with the screw, everything held solid. Now I keep the anchor next to the bit and match them up before I even touch the drill.
