Watched my buddy do almost the exact same thing at an estate sale in Clovis. He grabbed one box of Spider-Man books for $10 and left a box of old horror comics behind cause the covers looked beat up. Turns out the horror box had a bunch of early Warren stuff like Creepy and Eerie, and some guy snagged it right after for ten bucks. He still brings it up like twice a year at this point. Now he has a rule where if a long box is under $20 he just buys it, no thinking.

Read somewhere that the best pitmasters in Lockhart all say the meat talks to you, not the clock, and that stuck with me. Now I just listen for the fat to feel soft instead of racing the timer.
