Rant: I've bailed on 14 straight Saturday plans since March and now I kind of look forward to it
It started with a rainy cookout in April and now canceling feels like a little gift of free time, so how do you all keep from just turning that open Saturday into a nap and nothing else?
Ever notice how a free Saturday makes you feel like you have to do something big with it? I had one of those back in May, no plans at all, and I spent the first two hours just standing in the kitchen staring at the fridge like it owed me money. Then I finally just grabbed my shoes and went for a walk with no plan, ended up at a park I'd never been to and watched some guys play pickup basketball for like 40 minutes. Sounds dumb but it sort of reset my brain. The trick for me is picking one small thing before I sit down, because once I sit, the nap wins every time.
