inFound out my hens need way more calcium than I thought
My buddy Dave in Ohio switched to oyster shells after his hen started laying eggs that cracked just from getting picked up. He told me @brian865 that the eggshell crunching thing worked okay but he got tired of smelling burnt calcium in his kitchen. Now he just buys a bag of oyster shells for $8 and says it lasts his six hens about four months.

inWasted $150 on a fancy door leveling tool I never use
Hate it when a shiny tool ends up collecting dust like that.

inRant: Overheard a guy at the scrap yard in Toledo say 'close enough' on a load of 6061... that's how bad pours happen.
That attitude is how you get inclusions and porosity that ruin a whole batch. It might pass a quick look but will fail under real stress. Why even risk your reputation to save five minutes?

inPro tip: double check your glass order before you cut it
Man that's a real gut punch, sorry to hear it. Wasting both time and material is the worst kind of mistake. I started keeping a bright red marker right by the glass rack to circle the key measurements on the order slip before I even touch a sheet. What's the one thing that almost always works for you?

inPro tip: I finally weighed my finished compost after six months in a five-gallon bucket
People forget the mental load. Even if the physical work is small, the constant decision making and context switching drains you way more than the actual tasks. It's not about the hours, it's about the brain space it takes up.
