inAppreciation post: that $80 screen calibration tool was a game changer
Matching your phone to your monitor under room light is way too hit or miss. The ambient light changes constantly, so that match is gone as soon as you move. You're better off just trusting the phone's own decent factory calibration for casual stuff.

inI used to sew my text blocks with linen thread, but a torn ligament made me switch
Ever try silk thread? So smooth. Hope your thumb heals up, unlike @charliew99's feet.

inHeard a client in my chair mention a new at-home laser she bought online for $50
After my own bad experience, I started checking for an actual safety certification mark on the product page. That cheap flat iron I bought didn't have any, but my current one shows a clear UL stamp. It's a simple thing to look for before clicking buy.

inI was at a public talk in Boulder last month about moon landing doubts.
Yeah that part about official records feeling untrustworthy is spot on, @william_west. My buddy tried to show his uncle the real story behind that 9/11 "free fall speed" video, and the guy just said the site was run by the government. I mean, if you start from there, no fact really stands a chance.

inPSA: I had to pick between a rare Monstera albo and a full set of basic houseplants for my apartment in Austin.
My local plant swap had three people trying to trade albo cuttings for a mature golden pothos last month. It really shows how the hype can make people forget a full, easy plant is often better than a stressful trophy.
