Pro tip: the $25 replacement fan for my launch PS4 did more for frame drops than any patch
I was getting brutal stutters in every big fight on a game I've owned since 2014, and pulling the console apart to swap the fan and redo the thermal paste fixed it in one afternoon. Now I'm second-guessing every time I've blamed a dev for a patch that didn't help. How many of these so-called broken ports are really just dusty consoles?
