inTried recapping a 1980s boombox and my cat knocked the whole thing off the table
Did you check under the stove too? I had a similar thing happen with a vintage receiver I was recapping, only it was my dog wagging his tail and knocking over the whole tray of capacitors. I found one inside a sneaker three days later and another one stuck to the bottom of a magnet on the fridge. My wife still brings it up every time I mention working on electronics.

inBought a $200 pressure washer attachment for our tool library, broke after 2 uses
Totally feel your pain... that's rough when something that expensive dies so fast. We had a similar thing happen with a donated leaf blower, just couldn't take the wear and tear.

inUnpopular opinion: showing your first draft might be better than hiding it
oh man YES absolutely. I did this exact thing with a work project proposal last month. I was so nervous to show my boss because it was basically bullet points and half finished sentences. But she actually loved seeing the messy part because it showed her where my brain was going. She helped me rearrange the whole thing before I spent hours making it sound pretty. If I had polished it first I would have had to redo so much work. Now I'm kind of addicted to showing the ugly version early. It feels vulnerable but it saves so much time and you get the good feedback when it still matters.

inPro tip: Leaving heel long on trims cuts down on soreness
Did your buddy notice if the farrier took any off the toe too? I had a friend with a paint who was sore for days after trims until her farrier left the heel alone and just shortened the toe a bit. That mare started walking out sound just like your buddy's horse, no more limping or looking at the farrier like he was the devil.

inI used to think meal prepping on Sunday was the only way to save money on food
$45 savings just from cooking double portions? That's wild.
