Did you check under the stove too? I had a similar thing happen with a vintage receiver I was recapping, only it was my dog wagging his tail and knocking over the whole tray of capacitors. I found one inside a sneaker three days later and another one stuck to the bottom of a magnet on the fridge. My wife still brings it up every time I mention working on electronics.

oh man YES absolutely. I did this exact thing with a work project proposal last month. I was so nervous to show my boss because it was basically bullet points and half finished sentences.
