inI used to post my digital art at max resolution until a pro called me out
The thing that gets me, @christopher903, is how people just assume everyone out there is honest. You see it all the time with folks posting their kids' school photos or front door keys on social media. It takes about two seconds for someone to copy a house key from a clear photo. We have gotten so used to sharing every little detail that we forget the basic scammer playbook is still in use. My neighbor once posted a picture of her new car with the license plate clear as day, and someone tried to impersonate her at the DMV a week later. It really is a case of thinking twice before hitting send, because the world has a whole lot of people who just look for easy targets.

inI wasted $200 on a fancy paint sprayer before realizing a cheap roller did a better job on my living room walls
Ngl, @wendyk63 I get where you're coming from but honestly that "still works fine" part is kinda the issue. My buddy actually had one of these, spent like three weekends trying to get it to cut straight on anything bigger than a 2x4. Ended up giving it to his dad who uses it for firewood now, which is fine but not really what you drop $200 on, you know? The learning curve thing is real but sometimes a tool is just not built for the job you need it for, no matter how much you try. He said every time he used it he felt like he was fighting the thing instead of working with it. So yeah, not a total loss but definitely a waste of time and space in his garage.

inJust realized I hit 10,000 miles on my old Trek frame this morning
Basically held together by rust and good intentions" - oh man, that got me good! I literally snorted my coffee reading that. But honestly your 850 sounds like a tough old beast. My Trek frame has this weird dent on the top tube from when I crashed it into a parking barrier back in 2017 and it's still going strong, no cracks or anything. The paint is completely gone on the chainstay though, just bare metal now.

inTIL the hard way why you dont loan out a torque wrench to just anyone
Man come on, it's just a torque wrench not a surgical instrument. Unless you handed it to a gorilla who cranked it past the stop and broke it, it's probably fine. People act like these things are made of glass but they can handle normal use as long as it wasn't dropped on concrete or something.

inBought a $200 pressure washer attachment for our tool library, broke after 2 uses
Man, that stinks when good gear gives out that fast.
