inLabeling pieces during dry fit saved my last complex cabinet build
Wait, you had to take the whole thing apart twice? @cameron_price, that's the real nightmare. I'd lose my mind. The tape idea is smart though, way better than my system of just getting angry at the pieces.

inI thought those peel and stick floor tiles were a dumb idea until my basement flooded
Man, I was the same way! I totally thought those were just a cheap gimmick. Then my laundry room had a leak and wrecked the linoleum. I put those sticky tiles down as a temporary fix over a year ago, and they still look perfect. For cutting around pipes, I score the tile really deep with a utility knife and then snap it, seems to chip less.

inA regular at my shop in Milwaukee said my pork shoulder cuts were too thick for his smoker.
Ever think about how home gear just can't handle the same cuts as a restaurant kitchen? My buddy had the same issue with brisket... his little backyard smoker couldn't get through a thick cut without turning it into jerky. It's a totally different game when you're working with less power and space. You kinda have to meet the customer where their equipment is at.

inWhy I skip the thermal fuse check on dryers sometimes
Honestly, how many times have you pulled a dryer apart and found a blown thermal fuse when it still had heat? In my experience, that specific combo is super rare. I'll check the door switch, then listen for the motor humming. If it's quiet, I'm already reaching for the multimeter to test the motor windings or that centrifugal switch. The fuse only gets my attention if the heat's gone too, which is a different problem entirely.

inI finally figured out why my sourdough was flat after a trip to Portland
Yeah, I had to do the same thing last summer.
