Honestly, I used to hate writing prompts about ordinary objects

Tbh, I thought they were boring and told my writing group last month. Then my friend Sarah said, 'You're missing the point, the magic is in the constraint. Try giving a coffee mug a full backstory in 200 words.' I tried it with a cracked bowl from my kitchen and wrote a whole history about its owner in twenty minutes. Has anyone else had a prompt type they disliked that actually worked for them?
