inThe riverbank I cleared in 2019 is now a full-on beaver lodge
Honestly though, what if the rabbits are part of the design? Free wildlife show beats a boring, perfect lawn any day. Tbh my yard's a mess but watching the animals use it feels way more rewarding. It's like you're running a tiny nature park, not a failed buffet.

inVent: Bought the $150 'Perfect Collection' Blu-ray set for Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yeah that "raw, over the top energy" is exactly it. The new one feels too clean and safe, like they were scared to let the actors actually sound stressed or weird. Totally loses the soul of the show.

inJust spent $300 on a satellite messenger for the Wind River Range and it was worth every penny.
Consider the High Sierra off-trail. That terrain eats GPS signals and spits out confusion. My PLB felt like a required piece of gear, not an accessory.

inMy buddy's kid asked why we always check the oil first and it got me thinking
Oh man, that reminds me of when my little cousin saw me tapping my pockets before leaving. He asked if I was checking for a secret weapon. Had to explain it's just my phone, wallet, keys check. Felt like a robot in that moment, running the same program every single time. Kids just cut through all the noise we build up. Makes you wonder what else we do without even noticing.

inA neighbor's comment about my deck stain job saved my next project
My uncle, a carpenter for like 40 years, watched me paint a door once and just said "you're not sanding between coats, are you." I was just slapping on more paint. He made me sand it down with 220 grit paper and do it right. The finish went from looking lumpy to completely smooth, like glass. I do it on everything now, even little trim pieces. That one tip changed my whole approach.
