Yeah I read somewhere that dogs can notice way more than we do, like tiny sounds or smells we totally miss. Makes you wonder what they're picking up on.

Man, that hits close to home. I forced myself to just start grabbing my neighbor's trash bins from the curb when I got mine, and after a few weeks it turned into actual small talk. It really does start with just one dumb little excuse to interact, like a misdelivered package or asking to borrow a ladder. Turns out people on your hallway are just as lost as that pup sometimes, they just hide it better. That trail mentality of helping without overthinking it is totally what we need more of.
