Everyone says to always use a new blade, but my old one saved a job in Denver.

I was installing a big storefront window last month, and my new carbide blade snapped halfway through the cut. The only other blade in my truck was a worn down one I keep for rough work. I put it on the saw, went slow with extra cutting oil, and it finished the cut clean. The glass fit perfect and the client never knew. When has an old tool actually worked better for you?

Had a client's motion sensor keep going off from a ceiling fan in a Phoenix condo

I was setting up a basic system in a small unit and the sensor kept picking up the fan blades, causing false alarms every evening. I ended up moving the sensor to a corner wall and angling it down, which finally fixed the issue. Has anyone else had to deal with a common household item setting off a motion detector?

My old truck's heater hose blew out in the middle of a grocery run

I was driving home from the store last Tuesday when I saw steam pouring from under the hood. Pulled over and found the upper heater hose had a big split, spraying coolant everywhere. I had a spare hose in my garage from a past project, so I drained some coolant, swapped the hose in about 20 minutes, and refilled it. Has anyone else had a heater hose fail suddenly, and is there a good way to check them before they go?

Choosing egg alternatives made me question my bakery's values

A regular customer has an egg allergy but loves my lemon bars. I debated using a commercial egg replacer versus making a whole new recipe from scratch. Using the replacer felt like cheating, but creating a new item took extra time and money. In the end, I made the new recipe and charged the same price. Was that the right call, or did I set a bad precedent for special orders?

I never bothered with a footprint for my tent, big mistake.

Woke up to a soaked sleeping bag from ground moisture seeping through. Now I always use one, it's worth the extra weight.
