Had a client's motion sensor keep going off from a ceiling fan in a Phoenix condo

I was setting up a basic system in a small unit and the sensor kept picking up the fan blades, causing false alarms every evening. I ended up moving the sensor to a corner wall and angling it down, which finally fixed the issue. Has anyone else had to deal with a common household item setting off a motion detector?

Actually, it was probably the heat from the fan motor, not the blades moving. Those sensors pick up infrared shifts, so a hot motor starting up can look like a person to it. What kind of sensor were you using, a PIR or dual-tech?

Nah, those blades can definitely trip a PIR with the right light and angle.
