Six months of saying yes to every random project at work changed my reputation completely

Is this really that serious though? I mean, saying yes to random projects can backfire if people just see you as the sucker who'll do anything. Six months of grunt work might just get you labeled as the easy mark, not the problem solver. I've seen folks bend over backwards for years and still get passed over for the good stuff. Maybe it worked for you, but I'd be careful claiming it's some magic trick for changing how people see you.

Can we talk about ultralight backpacking not being the best for everyone

Ah yeah, I gotta disagree hard with the whole 'a little extra comfort is worth it' take. See, once you start adding that 'little extra' for a camp chair or a thicker pad, it snowballs fast and suddenly you're carrying an extra 5-8 pounds for a weekend. @shane_carr probably knows that feeling when you get to the trailhead and realize your pack weighs the same as a small child. The whole point of going light is so you don't dread the hike in and can actually enjoy the miles, not just the campsite. A book on your phone is way lighter than a paperback, and with a decent inflatable pad you can sleep just as warm if you pair it right. Your mileage may vary, but I've seen way too many people bail on trips because their pack was a burden from step one.

My buddy said to skip the first 4 episodes of Dark Matter on Apple TV. He was dead on.

I used to be the type who insisted you have to watch every single episode from the start or you're missing out. But man, I binged the first season of Person of Interest and almost quit because it felt like a boring procedural. A friend begged me to jump to episode 6 where the bigger story kicks in, and it was a total game changer. Went back and watched the early ones later and realized they were just slow setup. It really changed how I think about shows that take forever to get going. What other shows have you found where skipping ahead works?

Just realized how much my bridal bouquets changed after I stopped using tape in the design

Did you notice any difference in how long the bouquets lasted before wilting?
