That guy who told me to stop painting pruning cuts with sealer was right all along

I spent 8 years slathering sealant on every oak limb I cut before a mentor at a job site outside Portland last summer made me try it without, and now my callus formation is way faster... has anyone else ditched the sealer and seen better results?

Yeah, I stopped using sealer a few years back. Cuts heal way cleaner without it.

My buddy tried skipping sealer on his maple last spring and the tree healed up way faster than his sealed cuts.
