inJust realized using a custom UCS in my CAD software saved me hours on a recent project
Set your UCS to the face of a sloped pipe or duct when adding flanges or supports. I do that all the time for MEP work. It turns a bunch of annoying angle math into just drawing a rectangle. What was the hardest part of your roof to detail before you set the UCS?

inAppreciation post: Bought a $350 hoof jack for a draft horse job. Thing folded like a cheap lawn chair.
That's rough... makes @andrew_sanchez94's socket wrench story feel too real. Seems like the "pro" label on tools is just for show sometimes. Nothing worse than gear failing when you need it most.

inMy $50 Udemy Python course was a total game changer
Actually, the best thing that ever happened for my coding was getting stuck and having to fix my own broken projects. Courses give you the pieces, but you only really learn how functions work when yours breaks at 2 AM and you have to trace through every step. That messy, frustrating process of debugging a real thing you built, even a small one, teaches more than any perfect tutorial example. It's the difference between following a recipe and knowing how to actually cook.

inVent: A client in Cincinnati brought me a 1920s hymnal with the spine completely gone
Have you seen what a drop spine box costs for a custom job like that? The materials alone are crazy, and then you need someone who knows how to build it right. That idea turns a simple fix into a museum project.

inBought a $400 barber chair and it was a total waste of money
Oh man, totally. I learned that lesson the hard way with a fancy lens that just didn't fit how I actually shoot. Sometimes the cheaper option just works better for your specific needs, you know? It really changed how I look at gear now.
