Overheard a guy at the farmers market say his sauerkraut was too salty because he used iodized table salt. Is that a real thing?

Ngl, that sounds like an old kitchen myth. Iodine doesn't make salt taste saltier, it's all about the grain size and how it measures. Table salt is finer so you can accidentally use way more by volume.

I finally gave up on my old corded miter saw after trying a friend's battery powered one

Oh man, I read an article about this exact thing! They said the time saved on setup is the real game changer, not just the tool itself. Makes you rethink your whole process, right?

Just read that a 1% grade on a 200 foot crane pad can put you 2 feet out of level. Found it in an old NCCCO study guide.

Wow, that's a wild little fact. I remember a crane operator telling me once that even a tiny slope you can barely feel with your feet gets massively amplified by the height. He said they use these precise laser levels to check the pad before setup because eyeballing it just doesn't cut it. Makes you realize how critical that initial leveling really is.

Hot take: Neighbors used to wave, now they just complain about the dust.

My friend got a nasty letter from the city last month... all because he was sanding an old dresser in his driveway. The neighbor behind him called it a "dust nuisance." The funny part is, that same neighbor spent all last weekend pressure washing his siding, sending mud and gunk all over my friend's car. Nobody called the city on him though.
