inJust tried painting trim before walls and it saved me so much tape
Totally feel your pain on the tape bleed through, it's the worst when you peel it off and see that little line of white paint. I switched to trim first about a year ago and honestly it changed everything for me too, way less frustrating. Makes total sense to do the fussy part first and then just cut in the walls nice and easy.

inQuestion about why my meter was off by 0.3 volts all week
Read an article in EC&M a few months back about this. Dirty leads cause more headaches than people realize. The drywall dust is especially bad because it's conductive when it gets damp. Had a guy on a different forum tell me he was chasing a 0.5 volt ghost for two days. Turned out to be grime on his test probes. I keep a little alcohol wipe pack in my bag now after hearing that story. Cleaning them once a week is probably overkill but I do it anyway. Saves time and stops you from looking dumb in front of the journeyman.

inI finally tried my dad's 'just use a level, don't overthink it' advice for hanging shelves
Yeah the old bubble level just works. I tried one of those digital angle finders for hanging curtain rods and it kept giving me different readings every time I tapped it.

inDecided to finally watch 'The Wire' instead of rewatching 'The Office' for the 5th time
Oh man, do I ever. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when everyone is losing their minds over some new show and I'm just sitting there bored out of my skull. It's like we're not even watching the same thing. What was the show that did it for you?
