inI see a lot of folks saying to avoid using a razor on dry hair for split ends, but I had a client with fine, wavy hair where it was the only thing that worked.
My sister spent about four hundred dollars on high end products before she tried a five dollar jar of hair gel from the drugstore. That's the one that finally worked. I get what you mean, finleyfox, about hair laughing at the rules. The real joke is how the fix is often the cheapest, simplest thing you skipped over ten times. It feels less like finding a solution and more like your hair finally decided to take pity on you.

inJust realized my old boss in Seattle was right about one specific screwdriver
Totally feel your pain. I learned that lesson the hard way on a Pentax Spotmatic. Rounded out a screw so bad I had to drill it. Now I keep a Vessel JIS set in my main kit, got it from a tool site for like thirty bucks. Those old Japanese cameras are full of those sneaky screws. Frank knew his stuff for sure.

inA homeowner in Charlotte pointed out my quarter-round cuts were too tight against the baseboard, so now I always leave a credit card's width gap before nailing.
Man, that credit card trick is solid. I learned the hard way too, had a whole hallway crown molding job go bad after a humid summer. Now I keep a pack of those plastic tile spacers in my nail bag, the skinny ones. Just slip one in, nail, and pull it out. Saves a lot of headaches down the road. What do you keep in your kit for spacing?

inShoutout to the library book that showed me how much I was overpaying for dried beans
Watched my buddy dump a can of black beans into a pot last week. He added a spoon of cumin, some garlic powder, and a big squeeze of lime juice. Let it simmer for maybe ten minutes while the rice cooked. Made killer burrito bowls in under twenty minutes.

inJust realized my property tax bill is based on a value from 3 years ago
I used to defend them but "always behind" is sadly right.
