Why does my venison jerky always come out either bone dry or rubbery?

Whoa, 160 is way too low for slicing brisket. You gotta wait until it hits at least 200, or it'll be super tough. What cut was he even cooking?

Took a free bike off the street, now I'm stuck going to the giver's spin classes every week.

Honestly that sounds like a win to me. Free bike and built-in accountability to actually use it? You're basically getting paid in exercise.

How I fixed our endless board game setup

Dumping everything back in the box sounds like pure chaos. We were all just pretending to be organized before the bag revolution.

My neighbor's constant complaints about noise taught me to manage dredge crew gripes

That "tougher teams" idea misses how constant chaos just wears people down. If every problem has to blow up before it's fixed, good people leave because they're tired of the drama (not tougher, just gone). You end up with a burned out group, not a strong one.

Vent: Waiting years for a career move showed me that slow progress is solid.

Actually, that's a good point about learning the basics. But maybe not everyone on the faster track missed that stuff. Some people could have done a proper apprenticeship or trade school first, where they learned the foundations in a different way. They might have gotten the hands-on practice and the theory at the same time. So your friend's path was perfect for him, but others might have built the same foundation on a quicker route.
