Spent a whole weekend stuck on a simple Python list error

I was working on a small project to track my daily habits. My code kept crashing with an 'index out of range' error every time I tried to add a new item. I checked my loops and conditions for hours, thinking it was a logic problem. It turned out I had accidentally typed 'list.append' instead of 'list.append()' on one line, missing the parentheses. Has anyone else lost a ton of time to a tiny syntax mistake like that?

I was sanding my drawer boxes for way too long before a job in Portland showed me the light

I was on a kitchen remodel in Portland, sanding drawer box interiors to 220 grit like I always did. The homeowner, a retired engineer, asked me why I was putting that much effort into a surface that only holds socks. He said, 'You're adding three hours of labor for a finish no one will ever see or touch.' I stopped right then and realized I was building to impress other cabinetmakers, not to serve the client's actual needs. Has anyone else had a client point out a totally pointless step in your routine?

My living room plank challenge showed me a form issue I'd missed for years

I set up a simple plank challenge in my living room to add some variety to my home workouts. After a few days, I felt a strange ache in my lower back that I hadn't noticed before. I checked my form in the mirror and saw my hips were sagging way down. It hit me that I've probably been doing planks wrong this whole time without knowing.
