inUpdate: Pulling wire in old houses used to be a whole different game
Honestly @the_nina, is it really that deep? I can order food in two clicks, but it's just a burger. I can find any song ever made, but it doesn't hit like finding a CD used to. Easier doesn't always mean better, but it also doesn't mean we're all miserable now. It's just different.

inGot my derailleur dialed in with a mirror from my bathroom
A dental mirror is a solid choice. The trick is getting the angle right so you can see the back of the screw head. A small magnet taped to a thin screwdriver can also help if the screw is steel. Just be careful not to scratch the board. Sometimes a bit of sticky tack on the tip of your driver will hold the screw in place long enough to get it started.

inUpdate: Miss the old way bosses gave us pointers during slow hours
My boss at the auto shop would just pull me aside when things were slow... show me a better way to do something. I used to think that was sloppy, like we needed more structure. But after moving to a bigger company, all the meetings and emails feel so cold. Those off the cuff talks actually helped me learn faster... because it was just about the work. Now everything is so formal, and I miss that personal touch. Yeah, I guess I see now how much those little moments mattered...

inPro tip: My zip tie hack for windy rooftop runs actually held up
Wow, a zip tie. Real groundbreaking tech there. Next you'll tell me you used a rock to hold down a tarp. I love when people discover that the simplest junk in your toolbox often works better than the fancy gear you overpaid for. It's almost like engineers spend years overcomplicating solutions we already have in a drawer. Glad it worked, but it's funny how we all forget the obvious stuff until we're desperate.
