inWatch out for those 'free' city tour scams in Prague
Oh man, that's the worst (and way too familiar). Fell for a similar one in Barcelona once where the "historical stop" was just a fancy olive oil store. For Prague, the Sandemans New Europe tours are usually legit, they work on tips so they actually try to make it good.

inA guy at the Portland airport coffee cart told me to always ask for a 'half-pour' on Americanos.
Wait, you're just taking some random guy at an airport coffee cart's word for it? That's a bold move. I would not expect a barista at a normal shop to have any clue what a "half-pour" is. You're basically speaking a secret language you made up.

inWasted a whole Saturday and $300 on a cheap post hole digger that snapped on the third hole...
Sounds like you dug your own money pit.

inI helped build an AI that chooses who gets loans.
Yeah the "on autopilot" part is what gets me. We build these things to save time, but then they just run in the background making huge calls with zero common sense.

inI thought the whole 'petrified wood' thing at that Arizona tourist stop was a total scam.
Yeah, it's funny how often the real thing gets written off as fake just because it's in a cheesy spot. I had the same thing happen at a roadside cave where the stalactites looked like plastic until you touched one and felt that cold, damp mineral build-up. Makes you wonder what else we miss because the presentation seems too tacky to be real.
