Thought the 'freezer trick' for cordless tool batteries was total nonsense

Wait, so my freezer is now a battery charger and not just for my questionable leftovers? Honestly, I tried the same trick on a dead Ryobi pack last year and it worked for like five minutes, just long enough to finish a cut and feel like a genius. From what I've read, the cold can sometimes temporarily help a worn-out battery hold a charge by slowing down the chemical reactions inside. It's a last-ditch thing, not a fix. Probably not great for the battery in the long run, but when it's already dead, what's the harm?

Appreciation post: The butcher in Florence who showed me how to use the whole pig

Used to be the kind of guy who just wanted a pork chop. Seeing a whole animal used like that really flipped a switch for me. For the head, making a proper head cheese is the move, it's way better than the weird gelatinous stuff you find pre-made. The spleen is trickier, but it's great sliced thin and grilled quick, almost like a weird flat sausage.

A guy at the Philly glass market told me my punties were too thick

Yeah, I get what @oliver_carr28 is saying about the heat, but honestly I've cracked more pieces that way. I keep my punty cooler, just a dull red, and let the piece itself be the hot part. It sticks fine if you're patient.

Shoutout to the client who ghosted me after a $5000 project

My buddy got stiffed for almost eight grand on a branding package. The client just vanished after the final files were sent. He had to take them to small claims court, which was a huge pain. Now he uses a contract with staged payments at every single milestone.

A perm I did in Tulsa three years ago just walked back into my chair

Man, that reminds me of a lady who came in for a color correction. She had box dye so dark it was almost blue, and we had to do a whole process to lift it. Saw her at the grocery store like two years later, and the grown-out color still looked soft and natural, no harsh line. It's those little wins that stick with you, you know? Makes all the tough days worth it.
