Describe the actual sectioning pattern they used. Was it more vertical than horizontal, or did they break the hair into totally different zones than a typical salon? What tools did they use to hold the sections apart, and did it actually make the cut fall differently or just make their job easier?

Cardioid mics can pick up your voice way clearer for calls, but they also project it further through walls. Your neighbor might be hearing you perfectly from their place without you realizing how loud it is. A simple foam panel behind your monitor can soak up a lot of that sound before it leaves the room.

You're right that one bad part doesn't mean all yards are bad. But the reason calipers fail matters. If a yard stores them poorly, like leaving them in the rain, they'll seize up. Good yards bag parts and test them, which makes a big difference.
