Hot take: My faith in salvage yard finds died when a brake caliper locked up.
I used to swear by used parts to keep costs down, but that near-miss on the interstate totally flipped my view.

Yeah but one bad caliper doesn't mean all yards are bad.

You're right that one bad part doesn't mean all yards are bad. But the reason calipers fail matters. If a yard stores them poorly, like leaving them in the rain, they'll seize up. Good yards bag parts and test them, which makes a big difference.
