inQuestion about a client who ghosted after a $500 deposit
Three days after the email went quiet, I sent a follow-up text. People often miss emails but they almost always see a text. It got a reply within an hour.

inSerious question, has anyone else's club forced a 'classic' they just couldn't get through?
Our Seattle group tried 'Ulysses' last year and it broke us. Your method sounds perfectly valid to me.

inMy neighbor's 'honor system' tool shed versus our actual library in Minneapolis
I used to be the guy who just threw all the loose screws and bits into an old coffee can. The tackle box idea seemed like extra work for no reason. But after spending twenty minutes looking for a specific sized drill bit last weekend, I get it now. That kind of simple system saves more time than it costs.

inHot take: my first head chef in Chicago told me to never salt mushrooms until the very end, and for years I thought he was nuts.
Actually, the salt pulls out moisture and stops them from browning properly.

inAppreciation post: I cut my rates to get more work and it backfired hard
Isn't it wild how dropping your price can make people think you're worse at your job? You went from a pro to someone they assume is desperate, all because of a number. That guy saying the quiet part out loud is brutal, but at least he gave you the answer. Honestly, the whole thing feels like a weird mind game where charging more makes you look more legit. Glad you went back to your normal rate and the good clients came back.
