inA plumber in Boise told me to always carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer for cleaning meter sockets before testing.
Oh, interesting. I read a forum post where an electrician said the alcohol in hand sanitizer can actually dry out and crack some older rubber gaskets on meter sockets over time. He recommended a dedicated electrical contact cleaner instead, said it cleans without leaving any residue.

inA trick with a string line saved my bacon on a sloped job in Denver
Yeah, that string line trick is solid. I've seen guys try to use a level on every single post on a hill and it never works out. The whole run ends up looking like a staircase. Keeping contact with one continuous line is the only way to get that clean, straight look on a slope. Your buddy knew what he was talking about. Simple fixes are usually the best ones.

inBought a cheap thermal paste applicator kit online and it was a total waste
Wait you actually spread paste on a direct-die chip? That sounds like a great way to crack the die, man. I just put a tiny dot in the middle and let the cooler press it.

inMy neighbor said her basil was 'just for looks' and it hit me...
Read an article that said to put a small whiteboard on your fridge and write what's ready to pick. I started doing that and it actually works. You see it every time you go to make a meal. Now I use my chives and basil way more often before they get weird.

inRemember trying to set a line through that old rock wall in Burlington?
Is a small drill really the answer for solid granite? That stuff laughs at most handheld tools. You might just be trading one long day for another.
